thanks for the solution, it works. When I connect to my system I'm
using the W2K/XP or a LINUX console telnet client and with them no
problem so expected a PuTTY issue and didn' try RAW.<br>
<br>
I have no idea, why it happenes. SPIDER is an early January CVS,
opsystem is MANDRAKE 9.2. <br>
<br>
There are few other strange things also, wich do not occure at other
sytems:<br>
<ul>
  <li>can't get password use at telnet login work (these two are
connected together somehow for sure)</li>
  <li>list commands (SHOW/DX, etc...) list only one line of result even
if I explicite define the rows (just the CVS version, previous one was
OK)</li>

but only if the protocol in PuTTY is set to RAW. When it is set to the
default of TELNET, the connection is forcefully rejected. </div>

        <div>I have no idea why that should happen at HA5DI-5 and if I
try other DXSpiders using the TELNET default setting, the login is
normal and the connection is made.</div>
